How we treat

Stuttering issues

Majority of the time we try and teach children to slow down their speech in order to identify a stutter. You may speak very slowly and deliberately when beginning speech therapy, but over time, you can work up to a more natural speech pattern. There are 4 known methods to treat stuttering:

  • Speech therapy
  • Electronic devices
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Parent-child interaction
How we treat

Difficulty Pronouncing Words

The skills necessary for speech dont always develop equally. As children learn, repeat, and pronouce words they master some sounds at different rates. For example, the articulations of the R, L, S, Th, and Z sounds are often challenging for children. These difficult sounds for children to produce can sometimes take a little longer to learn and are more easily learned with care and patience. Treat the following pronunciation of the letters:

  • R Sounds (Rhotacism)
  • L Sounds (Improve tongue strength)
  • S Sounds (Resolve "th" instead of "s")
  • Th Sounds (Voiced vs voiceless)
  • Z Sounds (Pronounce "z" instead of "s" or "th")

  • Practice pitch
